PERRY SHOW INVITATION!

I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to attend the show at Perry this year on Friday October 16th and Saturday October 17th.  This show is a major fundraiser for the Georgia Draft Horse Association and we need your support.  There are classes for just about everyone and we have revised the premium listing again to make sure of that.  If you are new to showing, don't worry, there are plenty of "old-timers" at the show who would be willing to help you with any problems you might encounter.  If you are a returning exhibitor you already know about the fun we have just being with other draft horse folks.  If you don't have any horses to show this year, now is the time to get ready for the 2010 show by learning from exhibitors in action.  Your enthusiasm in the stands will be a welcome addition to all of the exhibitors in the ring.  There is a spot for each of you in this show!

The show programs/entry forms were sent out in July to our past show exhibitors as well as to all club members. If you have not received one, the programs/forms can be printed off our GDHA website, or, you can contact Rebecca Cannon (423-339-0694) for a copy to be mailed to you. The entry deadline is September 15th.

Good luck exhibitors and thank you for your support.

PERRY PHOTOGRAPHER!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Jill Monroe and I will be your photographer this year at the Perry Show. You may remember seeing me taking photos at the Spring show. I have always loved horses and this opportunity means a lot to me.

I am going to take photographs for the All American contest and photos of each exhibitor and the class winners. I plan on having the photos for everyone entering the All American contest available on cd before we leave Perry Sunday morning. The competition photos will be available for viewing/purchase on my web site at http://jill2285.shutterbugstorefront.com.

I can also come out to your farm if you like, and photograph your horses for sale or at stud. I especially enjoy taking photos that display the beauty of horses’ eyes and faces. More of my work can be seen on the http://jill2285.shutterbugstorefront.com site along with the photos I took at the Spring show back in May. I also photograph class reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, and family reunions. I can be reached at (770) 310-4585 or by email at jill2285@comcast.net.

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and their horses. See you in Perry! Thanks a lot,

BUDDY & EDNA:

Buddy and his wife Edna went to the state fair every year, And, every year Buddy would say,

'Edna,I'd like to ride in that helicopter.'

Edna always replied,

'I know Buddy, but that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, And fifty bucks is fifty bucks'

One year Buddy and Edna went to the fair, and Buddy said, 'Edna, I'm 85 years old...

If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance.'

To this, Edna replied,

"Buddy that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks.''

The pilot overheard the couple and said,

'Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and don't say a word I won't charge you a penny!

But if you say one word it's fifty dollars.'

Buddy and Edna agreed and up they went.

The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, But still, not a word.

When they landed, the pilot turned to Buddy and said, 'By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm impressed!'

Buddy replied, 'Well, to tell you the truth,

I almost said something when Edna fell out,

But you know,

"Fifty bucks is fifty bucks!'
